Then we stopped at Greybeard's Cycle Barn on the way home and I got a low seat for the Sportster for a hundred.
Cleaned the threads in the front wheel for the rotors, changed a few rusty bolts, and actually cleaned the lift off temporarily.
I changed out the derby and since I was there, thought I would adjust the clutch. Pulled the adjuster rubber up and was greeted with solid rust! Sprayed some blaster on there and got the locknut loose pretty easily. The lower part was rusted solid onto the cable though, so I went at it with a pick, a small hammer and liberal amounts of blaster. finally got it broken loose so I could adjust the clutch. Next round, I'll lube the cable and perch, and one more item will be up to snuff.
